Surika
Surika is born in South Africa with Indian heritage thus the love for Eastern rythms and colours.
She says "I dance-on-the-edge and middle
eastern dance is my passion it is a effortless effort"...
In 2005 Surika was the first South African whom participated in the Annual Ahwa Wha Sahlan Egyptian Middle Eastern dance competition. The year before she was flown to Mauritius to perform at an Egyptian bussiness opening.
She danced for several years at Mesopotamia, Ararat and Anatoli's, South African based Kurdish and Turkish restaurants.
Her style is Raqs Orientale: Egyptian,
Turkish, Tribal Fusion with sword balancing, veil, cane, floor, sagat and other eastern teqniques.
